Day to day as a sub 70 I've noticed the following behaviour in RoA, or its how it appears. Luckily I've only been caught by two edges of it but they are edges that suck and lead to my departure from RoA. I dont know if its that people dont like me or the lure of Hyjal is that desparate and blinding...
On a day to day basis, I saw and heard, whether present or being unwillingly subjected to Ventrilo, everything from guild members being left behind (girlfriends included) because others just *HAD* to do this high level instance or that high level instance and just *HAD* to get to 70
What appears to be the occurance, is "what do we do tonight"? "Arcatraz, Botanica or another high lvl instance", I've heard people be asked to go then "Oh dont worry" when they realise that person isnt high enough, rather than go help that person, the option has been taken to go do high lvl instances over and over, to the detriment to others.
I fully expect having gone through some of the guys heads, the comment "I have a girlfriend? Oh thats right I do. But shes not high enough for my plans for tonight, she can cope on her own" Thats not how most relationships work. WAKE UP before you lose your girlfriends! I've seen it improve but its almost this chant of "70, 70, 70, 70, 70" or "Hyjal, Hyjal, Hyjal" which puts blinders on to all else going on around them. If short, rather than offering to help, I hear comments of "Come on, hurry up man, get to 70 so you can join us" This isnt how a guild works. You work TOGETHER, not leave people behind in the crush to get to 70 and Kharazan. Wow, you've got keyed for Kharazan and you're 70..... now what? Wheres the other 9 you need to run it? Oh thats right, theres many high instances you can do while guild mates struggle to solo 2+ player group quests. Even 2 players, if not of the correct classes are going to have issues getting 3+ player group quests done. Do these people ask for help? Yes. Answer? "This is how you 2 man it without a tank and healer" or "Well I have plans tonight, I'll help you tommorrow.... <tomorrow comes> "Oh I said I'd do it tonight? Sorry its not conventient, give me a yell when you find others A: Well we have others now, we just need one more" Instead they go do high lvl stuff ...... NOT acceptable guys!!!!!! "Well why dont you guildies go PUG it up, you dont need us
" Actually we do, those that work together form bonds and form tactics to work as a TEAM, with those they run with regularly.
Just something to think about, maybe you should wake up before you lose others.
If anyone lower (even 70s that arent finished with content before getting keyed) is around and having issues finding people to help them with quests, feel free to give either myself or Lupissolo a yell. Please be aware, priority will be given to those wanting to catch up rather than those continuously bashing their head against the Kharazan portal wondering why there arent already enough to enter. Remember however, turn around is fair play.
Also note, that I will not go anywhere without Lup and visa versa if both are in game, so much like you wouldnt ask Bonney without Clyde dont even think of asking Lupissolo without Kareya (thanks for those that have been inviting both). I personally dont like people trying to separate me from my fiance during our only social time together (yes I know its sad). Its primarily happening with RoA and most of the time and I'm getting bloody annoyed with it.
I post this now, so long after leaving RoA because I'm still being affected by it, Lupissolo being still in the guild who sits not one meter from me while I work and I get blasted by all the spoilers one could possibly imagine. Headphones? Well I kinda piss Lup off if I do that because then *he* cant talk to me, the music is so loud to have to drown the spoilers out. I dont go to a movie, or buy a game just to be told what happens at the end or in the middle for that matter, this includes bosses.
