In the place I work, we rely a lot on a program called "Track-IT'
One of the functions is a that when people need IT help we can create a record of it. With this record (called a "ticket") we can assign a person to the job, track progress in the repair, correspond with the requester and document the fix. When work is complete, we can label the ticket as complete and an email is sent to the requester asking if the work is satisfactory.
At that point the user can reply to the email and say "Yes it all works" or "it caught on fire right after the tech left" or whatever the case may be. One can also say "The tech I had was fairly awesome" and send it directly to me.
So part of my job is to read these emails and take appropriate actions. Usually the action is to go "ok, good" then dump the email in an archival folder. Sometimes the action is to call the person who worked on it and go "Yo, fix it again"
Today, I got one of these emails back. It said that the databases were working properly once again and gave a special mention to "Richard" for his efforts.
At that point I thought "I wonder if he managed to crucify himself, or if he just used the hand-fork of truth"
Then after that I started to think of Foamy the Squirrel and his little song "where are you richard, I want to see you now. Come and see me...RICHARD!!"
I look at too much internets I think
