So lately we have been pwning the hell out of ZG. The only thing I have left to want is a full clear in one night, or at least Channelers + Hakkar + Bloodlord in one night.
I read a website about speeding up Molten Core, while not all of it applies...lots of it can be applied to our ZG runs. After reading the site I was sitting in MC with my guild thinking "We are wasting time...we are wasting time..we are wasting time..." every time we stopped for something.
The Raid leader has also read that site and tried to keep us moving. We do it a bit faster now, but not as fast as we could be going.
So here are the basic rules.
1) DONT EVER STOP! Fast runs require you to maximize your time down to the second. All of the 30 Second breaks you take between trash mobs add up over time. The 10 minutes we spend looting a boss adds up over time. 10 minutes looting a boss times six bosses is one hour spent taking care of loot.
2) The master looter is just that. They do all of the looting. While they are looting, all others are killing. It takes one person to loot...it does not matter if you are near the corpse, you will still get the loot you win when the master looter gives it too you.
3) Kill less. We do this already....we could do it more. The idea is that you spend time killing things. If the stuff you are killing is not on the way to the boss, you are wasting time.
4) Work in teams. Lots of time in MC a tank will be assigned to each type of trash mob. They will have their own healers and will only tank that type the whole time. While that mobs team is working, the other healers are regenerating mana.
My idea for us is to use the groups to our advantage. Groups one and two will be tank groups. Groups three and four will be nuke groups. Group 3 will consist of an OOMkin and spell casters. Group 4 will consist of a Feral Druid (If Available), a Hunter with Trueshot Aura and the rogues/DPS warriors.
Tank groups will have Tank warriors, Warlocks, Paladins, Priests and whomever does not fit into groups 3 and 4.
Each tank group will have a puller. Pullers will be raid assistants so they can mark targets with the icons.
If you are a puller, your job is to move ahead of the fight and start marking the next set of targets. When the last target of the previous group of targets is almost dead (about 20%) you pull the next one.
If you are a tank, your job is to tank your group and break crowd control in a good order. If your not tanking on that group it is your job to take as little damage as possible and not pull aggro.
If your a healer, your job is to heal when your tank group is tanking and regen your mana when its not.
If you are in a nuke group, your job is to use your best judgment as to when you start attacking. Do what you can to not pull aggro and not die. Other than that your job is to make with the killing.
If you all have some ideas on how to speed things up, post it here. I wanna see a 3 hour run that drops 8 bosses in a few weeks. That is my next goal for us.
