Hmmmmm after my first run through Kara last week and after all the trouble our group went through on just the first boss I was thinking maybe its true what I read, that their is no place for an arms warrior in kara. Despite holding my own on the damage meters when I am indeed called in to ot on a boss I cant help but think my lack of block and stam that i'de have from being mostly prot is hindering my capability as an ot.
I payed close attention to my health bar while tanking Midnight. It went up and down like a <insert lewd sexual reference here>. Not good.
And I know damn well short of being uber over geared I am not going to do the damage another dps class would be capable of. Thus I am pondering whether I should return to prot and be somewhat more ot capable or remain arms and relinquish my raid position to a 'higher dps' person.
We didn't down attumen until Zeusal took over the ot position. Which validates my point.
Perhaps on the early bosses I could get away with arms spec, but from what I understand it quickly becomes apparent(somewhere around Moroes and Maiden of Virtue) that a tank needs all the stats they can get for kara.
Bah i'm not really bothered if I cant raid, wow bores me so much lately, and i've been playing az for what seems an eternity. 114 days time played on Az, that number has made me think alot.
I need to lvl my alts, I know Kura wanted a consistent pali for kara, but as of now Rhay's on pause as far as lvling goes.

Think about it this way man. What talents are there deep in the prot tree that would help with your mitigation? Off the top of my head I cant think of anything exceptionally useful. There are some useful tools near the top, but near the bottom its all about Threat generation and rage efficiency. There is Shield Mastery, I was speced for it for a while, then I went into focused rage. Theres also Imp. Def stance, but it tops out at 6%. Im sitting there thinking "AWESOME!! Mages will crit for 2900 instead of 3000...WOO!" Your health bar went up and down a lot? Yeah, me too. The stuff in there hits crazy hard. Auttmen was hitting for 3800 non crit, it was quite painful. With the buffs I had, I would be able to take 3 or 4 hits before I was dead. It will happen, so don't worry yourself over it too much. Best you could do is get some gear upgrades. Perhaps you could experiment with a Fury/Prot build? Something like.... www.wowhead.com/?talent=TVZVVuV0xoVzZsEtoh0z

So i've discovered an unusual lvl of interest in pvp over the last month or so. Kinda odd since it wasn't that long ago I shunned pvp outright. In light of this i'm working on grinding the 45k honour I need for this uber thing: I've pretty much grown sick of instances, although i'm still happy to help friends and guildy's on a regular basis I wont be actively seeking groups for runs anymore. At least as far as Az is concerned. I am also planning to go with the following build: (46/5/10) www.wowhead.com/?talent=LVzxdAboghdioVZf0xSo no more +3 into bonus threat i'm afriad, if i'm to pvp as well as I want to i'm going to go deeper into the arms tree. I love being arms and after much thought i really dont want to sacrifice my personal enjoyment for the sake of being more useful in a raid so the fury/prot build is a no go now.
