Hey guys and Gals.
There was a stealth Change (I think) to ZG with the most recent patch. The bloodlord fight has totally changed.
Its a lot more fun now, but very much more hard. We no longer have this fight in easy mode.
When you enter the area, the first thing you will notice is a large chunk of the wall of spears is gone. Specifically the ones that are (were) between the raid and the main tank.
While you are looking at that you will also notice that something else looks different. Thats right, there is now a RAMP leading up to where the raid normally stands.
As it turns out we had been exploiting this fight without realizing it. I had noticed that the bloodlord would turn from time to time and look at the raid, but I never really thought about why.
It turns out that one of his abilities is to charge a tightly clustered group of people and drop a fear bomb. The spears were in the way so he wouldn't charge. Now he has a nice hole in the fence and a ramp to run up. BE AFRAID SQUISHIES!!!
So...what do we do about it?
Most of the strat remains the same. But the "watching" has become even more important. It is CRITICAL that we are all on our toes with this. More than ever before. Danovan has been calling out people who were watched on vent, that will help so much more now.
The positioning for this fight will need to change significantly. I have drawn a poor image of what it will look like now....
You will notice that there are 4 people near the raptor. Those are off tanks and their healers. The lone dot at Mandokir is the main tank. Very important for the main tank to be facing the raid.
All other raiders will be in a large arc around the Bloodlord. It is VERY important to be as spread out as possible. We may even want to consider totally surrounding him if we cant get split up enough. This is the only way my guild was able to negate the fear bomb charges.
The strategy for the off-tanks remains untouched, but I would like to see some polish on it. For example, the same tank dying over and over. I think it has something to do with the warriors specs. If one has not speced into "Defiance" and the other has, it would be difficult to do a tank swap. Then the armor Debuff will destroy that warrior.
Other than the position change, he remains the same. Only more fun.
I would say easier than tiger or panther, but harder than spider. Good luck to you all, lets down him twice this week.
